June 18 2023 | State Media
Few days ago, a viral video where Igbo traders in Alaba were seen vacating their shops. They claimed that the state Governor in collaboration with state security visited the market and threatened to bring down their buildings in Alaba international market. They said they were given 24 hours to vacate their goods. They started vacating immediately. Some Government agents on social media said the video was fake and there was nothing of such going on at Alaba international market.
Correspondents of IPOB States Media are live at Alaba, taking a record of the demolition today, 18th day of June 2023. It is no longer rumour or fake news. It is real that Lagos state Governor Sanwo-Olu and the state security made good their threat to demolish properties belonging to Ndi Igbo worth billions of naira for no just cause but because the Igbos voted for their choice candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi in the recently concluded election.
It is worthy of note, this is not the first demolition exercise since after the recently rigged Presidential elections that fraudulently announced Tinubu the winner. Even after Peter Obi was rigged out in an election he won in a landslide, the Igbos didn’t fight anybody. They chose the side of peace to avoid being accused of terrorism and killed by state security.
The Igbos were attacked and killed at different parts of Lagos during and after the elections. They didn't fight back. They maintained peace and healed. The Lagos State Governor never came out one day to condemn these atrocities, rather he led over 100 security agents to supervise another demolition today.
In every race there is always a finishing line. Nobody can exceed his elasticity limit. The end of this physical and psychological torture is here. If Nigeria doesn't put a stop to this madness at the earliest, a day of fight back will be bloody.
The Igbos have on several occasions demanded a disintegration from Nigeria but they have been denied. Nnamdi Kanu is languishing in DSS custody for daring to demand for an independent Biafra nation.
Nigeria must accord the Igbos the right to live and live in dignity or allow them to disintegrate and have their own nation.
