Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a prince of Afaraukwu Ibeku Community in Umuahia area of Abia State, in the present-day Nigeria. He is one notable Biafran that hates injustice, marginalization, oppression, subjugation, and suppression of people, anywhere on earth, especially his own people, Biafrans, and ensuring their wellbeing has been his number one priority.
After seeing the extensive marginalization, the people of Eastern part of Nigeria is going through, Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu took it upon himself to liberate his people from the agony they are going through in Nigeria.
He started the liberation process by preaching to his people about the need for them to realize their identity, and to go back to our dear Biafran nation that had been in existence before the creation of Nigeria by the Britain.
The Biafran people accepted the message and started calling for a referendum which is enshrined in United Nations CHARTER as ARTICLE 3, concerning the Indigenous Peoples and SELF-DETERMINATION. No wonder the choice of the name INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA (IPOB).
This did not go down well with the British and Nigeria governments, who decided to put a stop to the movement by arresting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in 2015, and charged him to court on frivolous, infantile, and ridiculous trumped up charges, which the court found laughable. But to save both governments from embarrassment and shame, stringent bail conditions were given to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, which were outrightly met.
He thereby defeated Nigerian and British governments in their own court, and was subsequently released. Having been released, with his case adjourned, before his next court day, the British and Nigerian governments decided to assassinate him by sending a combined military team, called OPERATION PYTHON DANCE to his house aiming solely to kill him in his home. That assassination operation cloaked as a military operation that was called PYTHON DANCE led to the death of 28 people in the house of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
He was however miraculously saved and evacuated from his home by ever resolute Biafrans, though with several injuries, forcing his disappearance and silence for quite some time. However, he was later seen in Israel, where he quickly swore an affidavit to return to Nigeria and prove himself innocent if Nigerian court and United Nations would provide him with security and ensure his safety in Nigeria. But his plea was turned down by both Nigerian court and UN.
In 2021 the British and US governments used Nigerian and Kenyan governments to kidnap (ABDUCT) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kenya, extra ordinarily renditioned him to Nigeria, with the vain expectation of extinguishing the Biafra Restoration evangelism.
This act of abduction and extraordinary rendition is an international crime, committed by the British and US governments, (who used Kenyan and Nigerian governments as a cover), has ridiculed all the governments involved, as their hypocritical claim of being custodians of human rights have been exposed to be mere unfounded claims without any determination to live up to it.
Even the United Nations working group that ordered the Nigerian government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally and simultaneously compensate him adequately, has been mute over the predicaments of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans in general.
But Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is determined to make whatever sacrifice that is required so as to ensure the freedom of Biafrans. That is why he has refused all the enticing but poison-coated offers made by Britain to him, including being made the Vice President of Nigeria.
He has stood his ground that the rights of Indigenous people, with regards to SELF-DETERMINATION, as it concerns BIAFRA, must be implemented, as it was in the case of Britain and EU.
The Demand of Biafrans is very simple. That DEMAND is a UN-Supervised #REFERENDUM. REFERENDUM is not a Rocket Science, but a simple democratic process that involves voting. Biafrans are not different from other peoples of the world.
