The above seemingly rhetorical and laughable question may not be so superfluous or ridiculous, or laughable, as it superficially appears, after all. This is mainly as a result of the British antecedents, with regards to their inherent and pathological fear of Igbos, and their traumatic fits with, and at any mention of Biafra.
Recall that "Britain negotiated a treaty with Igbo Chiefs in 1827, which was predicated on Biafran sovereignty. But later, the same Britain came and effected the extinguishment of the sovereignty of the same Biafra with machine guns", as stated by Bruce Fein, former US Deputy Attorney General.
It will neither be an exaggeration, nor beyond imagination, nor an unfounded hypothesis to state that because of this criminal and brutal extinguishment of Biafran sovereignty by Britain, all the resources of Britain have been channelled towards ensuring that the name, Biafra does not resurrect again, so that the British past criminal and atrocious records, especially their deliberate acts of aggression and belligerence towards Biafrans will not be revisited.
This may not be far from accounting for why Britain has unleashed, or should we say, exercised maximum force, with all their military, diplomatic, and intelligence forces upon Biafrans, whenever opportunity presents itself.
No need to be reminded about the events that led to the #GENOCIDE that the British government used the Nigerian government to commit against #Biafrans, between 1966 and 1970, in which Britain murdered over 6 million Biafrans, to compel #Biafrans to be identified as Nigerians. How Britain confiscated Biafra's OIL AND GAS, which they call Nigeria's oil today. How Biafra is still under British occupation and blockade, (in which Nigerian government is merely used as a cover), up to this moment.
How Britain has systematically excluded Biafrans in the affairs of Nigeria, making it easy for the manipulation and manoeuvre of ONE NIGERIANISTS, to the exclusive benefit of Britain, and to the overall detriment of the entity called Nigeria, and how being under occupation, Britain has been running rings around Biafra and Biafrans, through the introduction and enforcement of various unscrupulous, obnoxious, and reprehensible laws that target to decapitate Biafrans, as well as the unconscionable fragmentation, balkanization, and gerrymandering of #Biafra_Land, with which Britain had long targeted to justify the fallacy that Biafra land is just a dot in the circle called Nigeria. (Meanwhile, even the area called the dot is geographically bigger than the whole of the so-called United Kingdom).
Now, since IPOB was birthed through Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, for the purpose of restoration of Biafra, the message of nonviolent #SELF_DETERMINATION of indigenous people, as enshrined in ARTICLE 3 of the UN CHARTER, has been gaining prominence, wide acceptability, with unprecedented and infectious momentum, which has held the world to bewildering consternation.
It is on this note of the realization that the restoration of Biafra constitutes existential danger to the UK, that Britain has been doing all that she considers within human powers to stifle, vitiate, and truncate the restoration of Biafra. (The world knows all the absurd measures Britain has taken, through the Nigerian government, including Operation Python Dance and various False Flag operations, to assassinate @MaziNnamdiKanu, and blackmail #IPOB, to justify the terrorist nomenclature arbitrarily imposed upon #IPOB and #Biafrans by Britain, through the Nigerian government).
So, when Britain thought that abducting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kenya, and using their paid agents to heighten terrorism and insecurity in #Biafra_Land would be the final nail in the coffin of Biafra Restoration Project, she, Britain, found out sooner than later, that instead of the Biafran Restoration Project losing attraction and momentum, it began to gain unexpected and surprising number of converts, including even from quarters that were not only put into calculations, but axis and locations that are thoroughly disappointing, if not frightening, to Britain.
After the FAILED attempted assassination of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kenya by the British government, masquerading as government of Nigeria, the consequent extraordinary rendition, the tortuous incarceration, the kangaroo prosecution, the resounding VICTORY by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Nigeria's COURTS, and the refusal of British government, cloaked as Nigerian government to let Mazi Nnamdi Kanu go free, having broken no known law. The world, mostly Africans, but particularly EVERY BIAFRAN, came to the inescapable realization of the systematic decimation, suppression, oppression, subjugation, and covert genocide undertaken by the British government against #Biafrans, through the Nigerian government.
On the basis of the above, people like Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, and in fact, all the Biafrans, including the caliphate crumb pickers called socio-political leaders, Governors, Legislators (States and Federal), political appointees and socio-cultural Leaders, like Ohanaeze and Town Unions), whom Britain had thought that they had long pocketed and silenced, began to DEMAND the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
In recent weeks and days, shortly before their sudden and bewildering, or should I say, perplexing departures, Chief Iwuanyanwu, as the Ohanaeze President General, and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, as a Serving Senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria, had not just been visiting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the DSS dungeon, where is illegally incarcerated in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT, they have been interfacing with the British government, cloaked as Nigerian government, and have been vociferous, unrelenting, unfazed, and not cowered, intimating the world about the progress of their discussion with British government (Nigerian government), and the time line of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's release from DSS illegal detention.
