A return to agriculture is paramount in the present state of Nigeria. The leadership of IPOB has called on the people of the Southeast to go into farming and learn the modern techniques that will increase food production and technology.
Over the years, the vast land of Biafra land has been left fallow as a result of the Nigerian Government's deliberate policy of hunger weaponization, ostensibly to continue the mental bastardization of the growing population after the genocidal war of 1967/70. It is significant to note that during 1959/1966, Dr. M.I Okpara was the Premier of the Eastern region (Biafra land). His investment in Agriculture projected our gross domestic product (GBP) to be over 40%, an economic miracle the world has never found its mathematical Equations.
The recent movement for Biafra's freedom and sovereignty, led by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has sparked renewed passion among Biafrans for achieving food sufficiency. Economic power and food security are essential in every sovereign state. This is why the IPOB leadership has prioritized food security as a key initiative in restoring Biafra from the oppressive Nigerian state.
The leadership of IPOB procured thousands of tons of various seedlings during the last farming season in 2024 and distributed them to Biafrans in Southeastern Nigeria. This initiative and subsidy opened up opportunities that the Northern Nigeria-dominated government policy had stifled over the years, making us dependent on produce from Northern Nigeria, especially after the genocidal war of 1967-70.
This harmful policy could hinder our quest for independence for centuries. It was also the same policy that contributed to the loss of the genocidal war, as Nigeria enforced a food blockade, even though it is not an approved weapon of war by the United Nations (UN) under conventional warfare standards.
It's public knowledge that the farming season is here again. IPOB, via her press statements and various enlightenment sources, has called on Biafrans from all walks of life to return to the farm. This policy must be sustained, as proven by the 2024 Nigeria statistics, where Igboland emerged as the highest producer of various food items. This record runs contrary to the wide deceptive propaganda carried by the Nigerian Government and its evil media when they propagate that Biafrans cannot produce enough food for their consumption.
Therefore, now is the time for every Biafran to capture this rare opportunity to diversify, not only in cash crops but also in animal husbandry and horticulture.
A prosperous economy relies on a growing population, and that population cannot be sustained without sufficient food. There is a saying that "a hungry man is an angry man," highlighting how hunger can limit a person's potential. Without food, individuals lack the social stability needed to pursue other opportunities for success. This is why countries prioritize, subsidize, and incentivize farmers to ensure food security.
The leadership of IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra) has recognized this need and is actively encouraging Biafrans to return to farming, given its apparent benefits for our economy and our pursuit of freedom.
Fellow Biafrans, the time to unite and act is now. Let us seize this golden opportunity to create a brighter future. Together, we can sensitize our neighborhoods, spread awareness, and ensure this wonderful initiative reaches every corner of Biafra land. It is not just a responsibility but a duty we must shoulder with determination and pride.
Achieving and sustaining food security in Biafra land is not only a necessity but the foundation of true freedom. By attaining food sufficiency, we pave the way for self-reliance and independence, empowering our people and strengthening our communities. Let us commit to this noble task, for the future of Biafra depends on the collective effort of its people.
