If you so desire to cut short your precious life short, the best option is to join the Nigerian Army recruitment processes. The Nigerian Government lack gallant men in the military due to insecurities they created by sponsoring terrorism. It is no longer funny how the Nigeria Army recruitment awareness team led by Brigadier General Chima Ekeato has been visiting the Southeast for the past few days to sensitize the youth on why they should join the fastest way to die Young. After much grammar in Abịa State, the youths shunned him. The reasoning is that they have been victims of extermination by the same military.
Different homes are burnt without any provocations; youths are adopted from their homes once there is any killing by armed men. The Brigadier General stormed Akwa Ibom State in the sensitization campaign on the need for the youths to join the military, and the youth shunned him too. The general has been lamenting that the slot they kept for the Southeast is empty. Meanwhile, the youths have found it challenging to join the military for decades. If you don't have a strong connection, you can't join the military unless you pay heavily. After the process, the Southeast uniformed men are sent to the war front to fight the Boko Haram and Fulani terrorists, nicknamed bandits in the North.
Many of the youths from the Southeast are sabotaged by their northern commanders to be slaughtered like chickens without having much arsenal to defend themselves. Many homes have lost their sons in the military without any help from the Government and the military. Many of their bodies are thrown away without proper burial. You need to ask yourself, how many times have they come out to beg southeastern youths to join other sectors of the Government? They secretly keep the slots for their relatives and families if vacant opportunities arise. This means the southeast youths are good to die to keep one unholy union Nigeria as one unhealthy entity.
Suppose any young person seeks a purpose in life and considers joining the military. In that case, reflecting deeply before making such a decision is vital. Writing a will and informing your family is essential, as this path may indeed be perilous. Reports indicate that many young people from the Southeast serving in the Nigerian military have lost their lives, often without proper records being kept. The daily reality of facing threats such as ISIS, Boko Haram, and Fulani herders' militants paints a grim picture. These groups are heavily armed, launching attacks to devastate communities.
What's even more distressing is the alleged involvement of the Nigerian Government in financing some of these groups while failing to adequately support the military with sufficient weaponry and resources to defend themselves. To compound this, the Nigerian army has reportedly been infiltrated by so-called "repentant" Boko Haram members. Entrusting former militants with responsibilities within the armed forces raises serious concerns about loyalty and effectiveness. It is difficult to imagine how the military could successfully combat insurgency under such circumstances.
This situation demands introspection and accountability at all levels. A nation cannot hope to win the war against terrorism while harboring systemic weaknesses and unresolved conflicts within its ranks.
No Igbo Bịafran should join the Nigerian military recruitment process because that's the easiest and fastest way to die. When you are killed by the same terrorist the Government of Nigeria is sponsoring, your family will get nothing in return. Even your corpses will be thrown to animals to eat. Your families will not see your corpses. It is better to go back to farming because it is the farming season.
In summary, every Southeast youth must avoid the temptation to join the army recruitment process because of the empty promises attached to it. Don't let the southeast governors fool you into joining the recruitment due to the money involved; you will die because these governors will never let their children or relatives join the army recruitment process because they know the outcome of joining the process is death. Ask yourself again why, after training, you are sent to the North to confront terrorists while the Fulani and Northerners are sent to your villages to continue killing and intimidating your families and burning down villages. Be wise like a serpent and brave like a dove. A word is enough for the wise.
