Human Rights Emergency Alarm Raised Over Military's Extra-Judicial Killings in Southeast Nigeria

The rate at which the Nigerian military and other security agencies are killing the innocent and law-abiding citizens in Igbo land requires an emergency call by Southeast Political Elites and Traditional Rulers. The military is not alone in this heinous crime; Terrorist Fulani Herdsmen and some state-sponsored criminals and militia with security camouflage are not left out.

While the bloodshed is going on, government-sponsored media in Nigeria are working to control the narrative for their paymasters. Some online bloggers, including #Okwuluora, have been co-opted onto the government's payroll. Since the government funds these media houses, they do not make the effort to visit the locations of the attacks. Instead, they remain in their offices in Lagos and Abuja, printing whatever is dictated to them by their paymasters. They distort the facts and portray the victims as criminals, despite ample evidence of hundreds of homes being burned in various communities. Additionally, there are numerous corpses scattered throughout these areas and many young people who have gone missing.

The rate at which the APC Islamic government of Nigeria and murderous foot soldiers have besieged Imo State is alarming and sending dangerous signals that they are in the Southeast to wipe out the people completely.

The activities of this killing machine, in collaboration with # Nigerian media, are escalating. In places like #Arondizogu, Okigwe, Orlu, Eziohia in Mbaitolu LGA, and so many Communities in Orlu are today ghost towns because the terrorist Nigerian security forces have laid siege, shooting anybody at sight. The indigenous People who are still alive from these communities have fled for their lives, and grass has grown above the roofs of houses that are still standing.

Shortly after an attack, if you take a visit to these communities, you will be faced with a gory scene of headless Bodies. After attacking these communities, they cut off the heads of their victims and leave with them. This is a new trend that was discovered a few months ago, which could only imply that they are involved in organ harvesting and or rituals.

What more can be said of the silence of Southeast Political Elites, whose silence can only mean compromise. The Imo State Governor, who was not elected by the people but imposed on the people of Imo State by the corrupt Supreme Court of Nigeria, supplies these illegitimate ragtag militia with all they demand for the execution of these atrocities. The Governor has never visited places of attacks, nor has he condemned the burning down of these Communities. Instead, the Governor will boldly threaten the survivors on national TV to vacate their homes.

We need some courageous media houses to visit these communities, which are now ghost towns, and produce documentaries for the record. The military must vacate these communities. They have occupied the vacated primary and secondary schools.

Enough is Enough. We cannot continue to stand and watch our enemies slaughter us and burn down our communities indefinitely. This is the time to rise and seek the evacuation of the Nigerian military and all its accomplices in military camouflage. We have to return to our ancestral homes.
