Nnamdi Kanu Raises an Alarm of A Conspiracy To Kill Him By The Nigerian and Kenyan governments

The recent health report of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu emerging from the DSS detention centre is a red flag, affirming our fears that he may have been poisoned in detention following his frail and constant sickness. As his health continues to deteriorate, the DSS constantly denies him proper medical attention. Despite several efforts by medical Doctors requesting the DSS to allow Mazi Nnamdi Kanu access to quality medical attention, it was brushed aside.

A suspect undergoing trial anywhere in the world has the right to medical treatment. Even a convict awaiting execution has the right to medical treatment while in detention. So, one wonders why the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is different. This is an indication that the Nigerian Government is waiting for his Death. It is a conspiracy that must be challenged.

Both the Nigerian Constitution and international law make it clear that "an accused is presumed innocent until proven Guilty by the law". Even if found guilty, he still has the right to medical care.

Why is Nigeria seemingly waiting for the Death of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? We all witnessed how El Zakzaky, the leader of the Shiite Muslims in Nigeria, who faced similar terrorism charges as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment at the request of his personal doctor. Why is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's situation different, especially when his doctor is requesting a hospital within Nigeria? Why is he not afforded the same rights? Is Nnamdi Kanu considered a lesser Nigerian?

The deliberate and brazen acts of victimization and inhumane treatment directed at the people of the Southeast are the pull behind the self-determination quest in the Biafran region. This ongoing impunity has gone too far, and our patience is wearing thin. If anything were to happen to Nnamdi Kanu, it would spell doom for Nigeria. The patience and calmness of Biafrans should not be taken for granted, and the world should know that no human or Nation has a monopoly on killing.

We have been peaceful and calm since the incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, while pressing for his release. Self-determination is a Right enshrined in the UN Charter on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Nothing exceeds its elasticity; we shall react when we can no longer bear this impunity. The world and men of good conscience should urge Nigeria to do the right thing while the opportunity is still available.

Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and allow him access to medical treatment before it is too late.

A stitch in time, they say, saves nine.
