The Eastern Security Network (ESN) is the paramilitary wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a movement seeking an independent Biafran nation in southeastern Nigeria. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu launched it in December 2020; its stated purpose is to combat terrorism and banditry, specifically protecting Biafran farmland from the Fulani herdsmen.
The Indigenous people generally welcomed the good works of the Eastern Security Network until the Governors mobilized state security to go after these volunteers in the forests. They rolled out Soldiers and formed a counter security group called Ebubeagu security outfit to move into the forest and kill members of the ESN.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, deemed it a necessity to establish a security network whose only agenda was to protect the Biafran farmers from being slaughtered by the Fulani jihadist herdsmen, who at the time were on a rampage, displacing farmers and citizens from their ancestral lands.
The British-backed Fulani oligarchy saw the establishment of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) as a threat to their Islamization and annihilation agenda against the Biafran people. They went into a plot to tag IPOB/ESN terrorist groups and unleashed terror in the entire southeast. They budgeted millions of dollars to different agents, at home and abroad, to create Chaos and have a reason to attack the innocent Indigenous people. Every effort was just to blackmail IPOB before the international community.
IPOB has, on several occasions over the past few years, made clarifications through its media platforms and its official radio platform (Radio Biafra London) that IPOB is a global, peaceful movement of millions of people who are clamouring for the restoration of Biafra as an organization. They are not violent. Every act of violence seen was a government-arranged event with Alhaji Asari Dokubo using a platform called Ebubeagu security outfit and Simon Ekpa's Biafra Liberation Army.
The British Nigerian Fulani government has continued to sponsor various groups and link them to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in an effort to discredit the organization. One such group is the so-called Autopilot IPOB, led by Simon Ekpa, whom the Nigerian government has supported to infiltrate and destroy IPOB from within. When this plan failed, they aided Simon Ekpa in forming a militia called the Biafran Liberation Army, which collaborates with Nigerian security agents to target and kill Biafrans.
All the violent groups involved in kidnapping and killing the innocent citizens of the South East were sponsored by the Nigerian government through their Ebubeagu security outfit, led by Asari Dokubo and the Biafran Liberation Army led by Simon Ekpa.
The world and the United Nations should be aware of the targeted elimination of people in the Southeastern region, which is being carried out by the Ebubeagu security outfit and the Biafran Liberation Army. Asari Dokubo and Simon Ekpa, the leaders of these dangerous groups, have repeatedly claimed responsibility for these violent attacks and kidnappings.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) must be set free. Enough is enough.
