Every May 30, the soul of the Igbo nation rises in righteous anger and unyielding remembrance. Biafra Heroes Day is not just a date — it is a thunderous cry against decades of pain, betrayal, and injustice! When Biafra declared its independence in 1967 under the fearless leadership of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, our people faced a genocidal war that slaughtered over one million innocent souls — mostly starving children, mothers, and elders.
The Nigerian government’s cruel blockade turned our land into a graveyard. They starved our people to death while the world looked away. This was not war — this was calculated extermination! We remember our fallen heroes — the brave warriors who fought with their last breath, leaders like Ojukwu, Alexander Madiebo, Timothy Onwuatuegwu, and the countless unnamed martyrs whose blood still cries from the ground. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten!
The war never truly ended. Our people are still being killed, brutalized, and marginalized. The unjust imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu is a slap in the face of every Biafran. Every bullet fired at peaceful protesters, every life cut short in the South-East, is proof that the same forces that starved Biafran children are still at work!
On this day, markets shut down in defiance, streets fall silent in mourning, and our people gather with fire in their hearts. We light candles, we shed tears, but most importantly — we raise our voices and declare: Enough is enough!
Biafra is not dead! The spirit of our heroes still burns in our veins. We will never forget. We will never forgive. We will never stop demanding justice, freedom, and self-determination!
The blood of the innocent shall never be in vain!
Biafra lives!
