A victim was kidnapped in 2021 by a terrorist group on his way to Funtua and was asked to pay for his own release at the sum of three million naira, which he couldn't provide, as he pleaded to be released on the lower amount he could provide.
After four days of not meeting up with the requested amount by his family, the group sold him and the other victim to another terrorist group at the price of three million five hundred thousand naira, which was paid to them in cash.
The new terrorist group transferred them through a motorbike to their camp in a forest in Niger state, where his family then paid the sum of ten million naira for his release.
Terrorism in Northern Nigeria is seen in two ways:
1) as a lucrative means of making money by the Northern political elites through their foot soldiers, terrorists.
2) The major means of achieving their Islamization agenda is through constant massacre and ethnic cleansing of non-Sharia believers.
