The attack and abduction of former Chief of Staff to Imo State Governor Hon. Uche Nwosu inside a Church on 26th of December by Nigeria Security operatives under the express supervision of the Governor of Imo State, has helped to expose the key players in the infamous 'Unknown Gun Men' in Imo State.
Since the day Senator Hope Uzodinma was criminally installed as a Governor in Imo State, Imo state has been turned into a war zone and uncountable thousands of lives lost. People are attacked and abducted in their homes, market places are attacked and burned, schools are attacked and students abducted, Security personnel are not left out. Detention facilities in Imo state can no longer contain the large number of innocent victims kidnapped from one point or the other. Imo state have lost thousands of lives and corpses thrown into borrowed pits and bushes. The horror going on in Imo State can be best described as a POGROM.
In all of these, the state Governor has tagged the perpetrators of this crime as Unknown Gun Men and at some point, has pointed accusing fingers on the family of Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is presently incarcerated by the Nigeria Government.
Fortunately, the recent outburst of Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has vindicated Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB Family at large. Quoting in the words of Senator Rochas Okorocha: "Unknown gunmen have been unravelled in Imo State. As it stands now, these people are under the directive of the government of Imo State led by Hope Uzodinma.”
“It is obvious that the squad in the Government House are used for killing purposes or for the unholy act. The unknown gunmen in Imo State are gradually coming out. IPOB will claim that they are not the ones. Look at the way people are being killed, look at the way traditional leaders are being killed.”
He further stated that the present Governor Mr Uzodinma has been manipulating the Presidency on the deployment of the military to target political opponents in the state".
The former Governor further revealed that the Operational Camp of the "Unknown Gun men" is not far from the home of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma. This revelation further affirms his allegations. These camps cannot function without the express approval and supervisors of the State Governor.
Above weighty exposition cannot be swept under the carpet. The present Governor of Imo State must be made to face the consequences of his action. Truly, IPOB family have on several times denied responsibility of the killings going on in Imo State but nobody seems to believe them.
Today, we have all heard from the horse's mouth. The Imo State Governor and the Politicians are using the Nigeria Security Operatives to cause the present Pogrom in Imo State. They are still causing more havoc. Yesterday, the Attah community in Imo state was set ablaze and scores killed while many were abducted and taken to unknown destination.
We call on the Human Rights organisations in the World to intervene in the ongoing pogrom in Imo State, Nigeria. The blood flow is unbearable. People are displaced from their homes. Imo State people are in pain and needs Justice.
This exposition by the former Governor should be properly investigated. The deployment of Military to Imo State must cease. They should return to their Barracks and allow Imo State to breathe because the lives of Citizens of Imo state matters.
The Political class in the state are at war and the poor masses are made to suffer the victim of this evil act. We can no longer tolerate it.
Today, the kidnap of Uche Nwosu (Rochas Okorocha's son in-law) by the State Governor's thugs has turned out a blessing in disguise. Now that we are in the know of the State actors, we must come together and fight it by pushing for justice. This is a task everybody must partake in. Let’s rise up to the occasion before the people of Imo State are wiped out.
We call on all Igbo Organizations and World Powers to x-ray the testimony of Rochas Okorocha regarding the link between Unknown Gun men and Governor Hope Uzodinma and bring the perpetrators to book.
We call for the unconditional release of the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is presently languishing in Police custody. He has again been vindicated. The incarceration must stop. A call for Freedom of Indigenous people of Biafra is not a crime.
