August 03 2024 | State Media

We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by our amiable leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu who is currently illegally detained in the Department of State Securities (DSS) dungeon after his extraordinary rendition from Kenya to Nigeria over 3 years now, has always stood for justice, fairness and equity.

IPOB are not interested in the Nigerian proposed hunger protest which began on 1st August 2024. We have actually learnt the hard way since after the October 2020 #EndSars protest which claimed the lives of thousands of our people in Biafraland. Thousands of Igbo Biafrans youths were murdered in Obigbo Rivers State, Aba Abia state, Imo state, Enugu and the rest. Only Lekki tall gate was recognized.

We have learnt since after the 1967-1970 genocidal war against the Biafrans, in every slightest provocation from the northern Nigeria, our people are been slaughtered. We have often been regarded as the scapegoat. Just imagine the proposed protest that are mostly propagated by the North and West, and the entire Biafraland are been militarized, even when we openly said we are not joining the hunger protest. Yet the Nigerian government sent deadly Nigerian hungry terrorists in uniform to gun anyone who would protest in the Biafraland. Unfortunately to them Ndigbo shocked them and shun the protest and they panicking already.

Most states in Biafraland were doing their businesses while some lock down their shops to avoid been used as scapegoat. Some are afraid that the military could open fire on them and tag it unknown gunmen. Just on 1st August 2024, hunger protest, some citizens in the northern Nigeria were found looting Ndigbo shops and the government properties, some inscription has "Ndigbo Must Go" on their placards.

A supposed 'hunger protest' you see why Biafrans shun the protest. Some also has in their placard written "The Military should take over government” while many of the Northerners were chanting Tinubu must go and let the military take over the government.

What the West failed to see from afar, Ndigbo has seen it on top the hill. We are not saying that there is no hunger in the land but the motive behind the protest is still hidden, the North and West should do their family business, and Ndigbo has nothing to lose if Nigeria breaks up tomorrow, that has always been our quest over 10 years and still counting.

Nigeria is a failed state and needs to be dissolved immediately and let others go to their tent. This unholy British marriage is not working, the oil and water has always refused to mix. Why not let the indigenous people go their separate ways?  Nigeria is not working, inflation has taken over the economy, the highest Nigerian currency can't even afford a family loaf of bread. Even the lowest naira can't even buy anything in the shop or market.

We are not against your proposed protest, if many of you are serious about it, we the Biafrans would know. Stop looting our various shops in your states, our shops and markets are not cause of your hunger. Face the government who has made miserable for you all.

It’s time Biafrans safeguards their various shops from these criminals breaking their shops and looting them in the name of hunger protest. We have been doing our own protest for every Monday in solidarity for the unconditional release of our detained leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu who is still in DSS dungeon. No Igbo Biafran will protest in Biafraland until a referendum date is given to us. We are only hungry for freedom; the Nigerian military should leave our peaceful land alone. They should stop intimidating our people, we are only interested in Biafra freedom.

In summary, Biafrans must do everything within their powers to remain law abiding citizens as always, shun the hunger protest, and do your business but if the atmosphere isn't favourable, go home and stay safe, we have always been their target. If we can resist the temptation, the proposed hunger protest would die a natural death as the first one.

We have been reading countless tweet in X were many of the Yoruba’s and Fulanis are lamenting why Ndigbo hasn't joined their 'hunger protest.' Below is the tweet from one buffalo Sarki "The Igbos left their states peaceful to protest in other part of the country, where it has turned violent and into a looting spree. If the protest were truly meant to be peaceful, we would be seeing pictures of it happening in the Southeast. Buffalo Sarki asked again "Why is there no ongoing protest in any of the Igbo state (Southeast)? The nincompoop's continued again and lamented that" The protest needs to be called off immediately, yes, there's hunger in the land but this is not the way forward said one buffalo Sarki.

Senator Shehu Sani tweeted on X platform and has this to say "It's all quiet on the Eastern front while shops and government buildings are torched and looted in other parts of the country. Hoodlums snatching phones, burning offices, damaging traffic lights and looting shops are not peaceful Protesters... Sani added again with a questions. "Why did the South East refused to protest when many south Easterners were supporting the protest? Why did the Northerners refused to protest against Yar'Adua and Buhari and they protested against GEJ and BAT? why did the south westerners always protest against all the Presidents?

The above question will remain unanswered until Justice is served to the oppressed people. All hail Biafra the children of light.
