Today, we mark a significant milestone in the history of our beloved region - the fourth anniversary of the Eastern Security Network (ESN). Established to protect and serve the people of the East, the ESN has proven to be a beacon of hope and a symbol of resistance against oppression especially from the Fulani herdsmen that has been terrorizing our community for years.
A BRIEF HISTORY
In response to the growing insecurity and marginalization of the Eastern region, The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, came together to form the ESN. With a clear vision and a strong sense of purpose, they set out to create a safer and more just society for all.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND IMPACT
Over the past four years, the ESN has achieved remarkable success in various areas, including:
Protection of Lives and Property; The ESN has worked tirelessly to safeguard the lives and property of Easterners, defending them against external threats and internal aggression from the hands of the Fulani herdsmen
Secondly, Promoting Justice and Accountability; Through their efforts, the ESN has helped to bring perpetrators of violence and injustice to book, ensuring that those responsible for harming our people are held accountable.
Thirdly, Fostering Unity and Cooperation; By working together with other regional security outfits and community groups, the ESN has helped to foster a sense of unity and cooperation, promoting a shared vision for a safer and more prosperous East.
CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS
Despite the many successes of the ESN, there are still significant challenges to be overcome. The region continues to face threats from external forces like the Fulani herdsmen and the Nigerian security operatives, and there is much work to be done to address the root causes of insecurity and marginalization.
However, as we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we are filled with hope and optimism for the future. The ESN remains committed to its mission, and we are confident that together, we can build a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future for all Easterners.
In conclusion, as we mark the fourth anniversary of the Eastern Security Network, we honour the courage and resilience of its members, who have risked everything to protect and serve our people. We also recognize the critical role that the ESN has played in promoting justice, and accountability.
Here's to many more years of service, sacrifice, and success! Long live the Eastern Security Network!
Long live the ESN!
