Since the agitation for Biafra independence, by the Leader of the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), from 2011 till date, it has been years of great torment by the Nigerian government.
What happened to him on November 20th, 2025, was the most worrisome of all. A day the Nigerian government turned its justice system to the dogs. Justice James Omotosho, who claimed to have found Kanu guilty on seven-count charges, including inciting violence and promoting terrorism through Radio Biafra broadcasts, made a mess of his career. This travesty of Justice must be challenged at the higher Court, as confirmed by Nnamdi Kanu's legal team.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been detained since June 28th 2021, following his abduction from Kenya and subsequent rendition to Nigeria under secrecy-breaking International Laws. He was once discharged and acquitted because he had been extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria. The government refused to release him. The incarceration continued in the DSS detention facility.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a victim of false imprisonment, and his trial has been unfair; the judgment passed was unconstitutional because there was no law cited for his trial. His frustration over this injustice angered him on the day the verdict was read. He was found screaming and asking for Justice.
"You don't know the Law, show me the Law under which I am being tried."
"Which Law gave you the right to waive my written response to defend myself?"
He continued uncontrollably asking questions in anger.
"Show me the Law, Omotosho"
"God will punish you now and forever"
The world watched the filthy judgment that ridiculed Nigeria's justice system, and there was uproar across. The US lawmakers condemned it in its entirety. Lawmakers from across African countries condemned it. The Nigerian President was accused of playing heavy tribal politics against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because while he supervised the years of Kanu's incarceration, he was found romancing with terrorists who were causing havoc in the North.
Simultaneously, Nigeria is dealing with increasing violence against Christians, particularly in the middle belt and northern regions, where extremist groups, such as Boko Haram and Fulani militants, have targeted Christian communities. According to reports, over 7,000 Christians were killed in 2025 alone. Over 52,250 Christians were killed in Nigeria between 2009 and 2023, 3,100 Christians were killed, and 2,830 were kidnapped in 2024, according to Open Doors. A situation that has led the USA to designate Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC). Other International bodies have joined the US to characterize what is going on as Christian persecution and genocide.
Nigeria is on the brink of disintegration as Trump is coming with guns blazing to save the Christians.
