The closure of the popular Onitsha main market by the state governor, Prof. Soludo, can only be described as an arbitrary abuse of power and a state of tyranny. Governor Soludo's Antics and collaboration with the corrupt Nigerian State to infringe on the rights of the people will be resisted at all costs.

He was used by the APC government to divert the all-important global attention from the Christian genocide in Nigeria and also to take away the Biafra discussion from the stage. It is evident that Governor Soludo, a Southeast Governor, is out to wrest power from the people of the Biafran region, having been promised the position of Vice President in the next election.

The mandate given to him by this terrorist government is to end the voluntary peaceful protest (Sit at Home) in his State. A protest that has been ongoing in the past 5 years demanding the unconditional release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has suffered prolonged incarceration in the hands of the Nigerian State. A man who has fought for the rights of the marginalized southeast region of Nigeria since the end of the genocidal war in 1967-1970.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has not committed any crime known to the law, both domestic and international. He was extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria for using a microphone to expose the rot going on in Nigeria against the southeast people and demanding a REFERENDUM for the people of Biafra to determine their fate in Nigeria.

Peaceful civil disobedience is a constitutional Right of citizens to express support or dissatisfaction with government policies, which is elementary knowledge. The demand for self-determination is also a constitutional Right of the Indigenous people. It is enshrined in the UN Declaration of Human and Peoples' Rights to which Nigeria is a signatory.

Governor Charles Soludo swore an oath to protect the lives and properties of the people of Anambra State, but today, he is using the Nigerian soldiers to intimidate the people, threatening to pull down the market harboring over 5,000 traders in the event they refuse to end the civil disobedience of Sit at Home. This can only be obtained in a military regime that sets aside the country's constitution. Sadly, Soludo has made himself a demigod. He moves around with soldiers, threatening the people.

They say, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is just what Governor Charles Soludo demonstrates, as he rigged himself into a second term in office. Using the Nigerian soldiers to shut down the Main market that generates over $100m daily, a source of daily livelihood of the people, is a gross display of wickedness and tyranny for the self-styled Professor of economics.

As Soludo targets to diminish the quest for Biafra sovereignty in exchange for his desire for the seat of President, let him go and ask for the generation of Ukpabi Asika in Nigeria today. They have faded away—nobody who fights his kinsmen lives or ends peaceful Life.
