On the 9th of January 2026, a terrorist group attacked a village in Adamawa and slaughtered thirty-two individuals, set their houses ablaze for not adhering to their command of converting to Islam. This was after an earlier attack took place in the same village that claimed ten lives, and a warning to the villagers to convert to Islam against their will to be safe. Yet, the government and its security agencies remained deaf after being aware of such an event.
