Nigeria/Fulani Impunity Against the Indigenous People of Southeast Nigeria

The National Chairman of Zenith Labour Party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, in an interview with a National Television, has questioned why the Leader of indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was still incarcerated in the DSS dungeon while bandits and terrorists who have been committing genocide since 2014 till date have never been held accountable for the atrocities they commit.

Nwanyanwu, speaking in an interview with Channels Television, highlighted what he described as double standards in the treatment of "Security threats" by the sitting government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It is a fact that we have observed helicopters near the strongholds of terrorists on several occasions, dropping off items in cartons and taking packages away. We have often wondered who the sponsors of these terrorists are. Since President Muhammadu Buhari took office, these terrorists have killed hundreds of people, kidnapped citizens, and demanded ransoms as high as N100 million per person. They have raped women, kept them as sex slaves, killed children, and burned down communities while chanting the Islamic jihadist slogan Allah Hu Akbar.

So many times, the survivors of this genocide have always pointed accusing fingers at the sitting government. Some innocent soldiers have raised an alarm, pointing fingers at their bosses as being the real enemies aiding and abetting the terrorists. These undefendable counteraccusations were made worse by the government's steady negotiations with terrorists, and how the terrorists usually laid an ambush for them each time they planned a movement to attack them. It was confirmed that information always leaked to the terrorists as they plan each movement. The government has countless times enlisted the captured terrorists into the military and Police without explanation.

The security challenge facing Nigeria is formidable. The corruption of government officials may never be overturned because it has become deeply ingrained in their nature. Every sector is bleeding, with no known solution in sight. The people are impoverished and in a state of dejection.

In summary, we, the indigenous People of Biafra, will continue to seek the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the restoration of the sovereign State of Biafra. In this nation, we can live with dignity as humans. The government must excuse Nnamdi Kanu and go after the real terrorists that they know very well.
