The state of Nigeria is claimed to be a democratic federal government in documents, but in practice, the Government is the exact opposite of what democracy stands for. Nigeria has become an
authoritarian country, where Power is held by a small group of APC members who violate the rights of the people with impunity.
The executive has hijacked the Judiciary and Legislative arms and is running the Government like an authoritarian government. The electoral body, INEC, is not left out. They have become a tool in the hands of the present APC Government. Every part of governance in Nigeria is bleeding.
The southeast region of Nigeria is the worst hit by these bandits in Power. The Government has been in Power for over 10 years and has militarized the entire region. There are over a thousand checkpoints scattered throughout the southeast region. These soldiers have turned the checkpoints into a point of victimization, extortion and humiliation of an innocent indigenous People whose only crime is exercising their right to self-determination as enshrined in the UN charter on the Rights of indigenous peoples.
The military has on several occasions raided communities in search of young men and women suspected of supporting the quest for a sovereign State of Biafra. Thousands of people have been killed, houses burned down, and millions of people displaced from their homes and communities deserted for fear of the military siege.
The unlawful arrest and continued incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by the Nigerian Government, is one example of a dictatorship rather than Democracy. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu holds dual citizenship of Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Sadly, the British colonial masters have since turned a blind eye to their citizen who has suffered illegal incarceration for over four years.
There has not been any reasonable effort from Britain to stop further incarceration and save its citizen, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This is because they are particularly interested in free Oil exploration from Biafranland. The British Government has always supported the evil perpetrated on the people of the Southeast region by Nigeria on selfish grounds. During the Nigerian genocide in the southeast region of 1967-1970, the British assisted Nigeria militarily to exterminate the innocent indigenous People of Biafra.
The Indigenous People of Biafra are people with sound minds, people of integrity who speak the truth, no matter whose ox is gored. This is why they have automatically become a threat and an enemy that must be stopped by any means possible.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been unlawfully kidnapped by the Nigerian Government from Kenya. He has been incarcerated for over four years, and his only crime is advocating for the freedom of his people. The Biafran community has faced immense marginalization and systemic violence, with the military conducting operations in the region that have led to significant suffering and loss.
Since he was extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria, there have been several court orders declaring his kidnap and detention illegal. The appeal court went further to discharge and acquit him because Nigeria had breached the International Laws of Engagement. Sadly, the Nigerian Government and its collaborating British Government kept a deaf ear, thereby violating the court orders and secretly making plans to eliminate him in their custody.
It is no surprise that the US government designated Nigeria a country of Particular Concern. The POTUS went further to describe her as a Disgraced Country because it has failed in everything that qualifies a democratic State.
